Cluch Radio Basketball Returns for its Sophomore Season.

Friday, 3 December, 2021
Following a debut year which saw over 100 games broadcast live on Cluch Radio (CR), the CR basketball team is returning to chronicle all the action of what promises to be a historic 2021/22 NBL & WNBL season.
With the expansion of the league to a 10-team competition (following the arrival of the Tasmania Jack Jumpers), CR is more excited than ever to be a regular companion to NBL22. The flagship show - NBL Roundtable - will also continue into its second season with an expert commentary team.
The WNBL will also see at least one game per round broadcast by the CR team, with the new WNBL Weekly show, launched as a companion to the season live calls, going in-depth with the biggest names in the league.
The NBL commentary team will once again be led by chief commentator Julian Marcus (née Daw), calling the action from John Cain Arena. He’ll be joined by established NBL writer Tom Hersz and will together anchor the Victorian coverage of NBL22.
In NSW, one of Australian basketball's most trusted and respected voices, Matt McQuade, will lead the coverage of Kings & Hawks games live from Sydney & Wollongong alongside chief basketball analyst Ben Knight & former Hawks workhorse Troy Pilon. They’ll be supported by former Sydney Flames star Rachel Herrick & long-time sports broadcaster Richard Svenson, who will also call the WNBL action together.
Additional voices include Michael Thompson, Luke Jobson & more to be introduced, with commentary crews forming across multiple Australian cities. Taking advantage of this new multi-city arrangement, the NBL Roundtable will move to a bi-weekly format in 2021/22 and air on Mondays and Thursdays. Julian Marcus will host the show with Matt McQuade, examining the biggest NBL news on and off the court alongside a variety of special guests.
NBL on Cluch Radio tips-off with the South East Melbourne Phoenix hosting the New Zealand Breakers on Saturday night (7pm AEDT, John Cain Arena). WNBL on Cluch Radio begins Sunday (12pm AEDT, Qudos Bank Arena) with the clash between the Sydney Uni Flames and UC Capitals, immediately followed by the Sydney Kings & Melbourne United blockbuster.
